Biscotti for after Dinner, with our Friday after Dinner Drink. Link will be on the bottom of the page. This is a great recipe, we made it a few times. Great treat with Coffee. This is a basic recipe but you can do different spins on it by adding nuts or dried currants or dipping the ends in chocolate. 

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

3/4 cup sugar

1 stick of unsalted butter, room temperature

1/4 tsp salt

2 large eggs


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F . Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Whisk flour and baking powder in a medium bowl to blend. With a mixer, beat sugar, butter and salt until blended. Beat in one egg at a time. Add the flour mixture and beat until blended—do not over beat this will make the dough tough. Form the dough in a 13″ long 3″wide log on the baking sheet. Bake until golden about 40 minutes. Cool for 30 minutes. Place log on cutting board, using a sharp serrated knife cut on a diagonal into 3/4″ thick slices,  arrange cut side down on baking sheet…bake an additional 15 minutes.
